Kenny Wayne Shepherd joins LA Lloyd on the Rock 30 this weekend to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Ledbetter Heights (30th Anniversary Sessions), the album that launched his career and introduced a new generation to his guitar-driven sound. Kenny was still in high school when he recorded the original album, and three decades later he has returned to those songs with a fresh perspective while honoring the spirit of the original recordings.

Ledbetter Heights (30th Anniversary Sessions)

Three decades after the release of Ledbetter Heights, Kenny has revisited the album with Ledbetter Heights (30th Anniversary Sessions). During his conversation with LA Lloyd, he talks about recording the album while balancing high school in Louisiana, revisiting the original guitar rig, and discovering that some of those songs mean more to him today than they did when he first recorded them. The anniversary project captures both the energy of the original album and the experience that comes with thirty years on the road.

Blue On Black/Five Finger Death Punch

Kenny Wayne Shepherd has spent the last three decades building one of the most respected careers in guitar-driven music. While Ledbetter Heights (30th Anniversary Sessions) looks back at where it all started, many fans know him through “Blue On Black,” one of the biggest songs of his career. The song found a new audience when Five Finger Death Punch recorded their own version, bringing together Kenny, Brian May, and Brantley Gilbert for a collaboration that introduced the song to an entirely new generation of rock fans.
