Who is LA Lloyd

LA Lloyd’s career in radio has taken him across the country, from the Carolinas to California and eventually Texas, where he became a familiar voice in Austin and San Antonio. His career includes programming and on-air positions at some of rock radio’s most influential stations, including 99.5 KISS in San Antonio and 93.7 KLBJ-FM in Austin. In 2026, Lloyd was inducted into the San Antonio Radio Hall of Fame, recognizing a career that has always been built around one thing—his love of radio, rock music and the people behind it.

Lloyd created the nationally syndicated LA Lloyd Rock 30 Countdown in 2000. Each week, the show counts down the biggest songs in rock while going beyond the chart with conversations with the artists who make the music. Over the years, Lloyd has interviewed many of rock’s biggest names, including Metallica, Guns N’ Roses, Foo Fighters, Shinedown, Disturbed, Papa Roach, Breaking Benjamin and Halestorm. More than 26 years after its debut, the Rock 30 continues to bring listeners the music, stories and personalities behind rock every weekend.

More than 26 years after its debut, the LA Lloyd Rock 30 continues to air on radio stations across the United States while reaching listeners around the world through Rock 30 Radio, podcasts and Rock 30 TV. Through it all, Lloyd’s goal has remained the same: play great rock music, tell the stories behind it and give listeners a connection to the artists who make it.
