Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) was originally recorded by Journey and was released January 5, 1983. Forty years later, the song has been recorded again but this time as a duet by Daughtry and Lzzy Hale from Halestorm.
As soon as LA Lloyd heard that Separate Ways had been covered by Daughtry and Lzzy, he invited Chris to co-host the Rock 30 to tell his story to the listeners. Chris says the idea came to him after he and his wife heard the original song playing during an episode of Stranger Things.
LA Lloyd asked Daughtry to select an artist pick and he chose Asylum. He tells the story how this song took a life on its own and was used as the closing number each night on the Dearly Beloved tour.
Will there be any more singles released from Dearly Beloved? According to Daughtry, he will be touring in the U.K. and some Canadian dates. After that, the band will return to the studio and begin working on a new album. Heavy Is The Crown was the most successful track from Dearly Beloved which reached number 4 on the Rock 30 charts.
