Three Days Grace September 3-4, 2022
This Labor Day weekend, it’s all about the number “3”. A three-day weekend and Three Days Grace co-hosting the Rock 30. LA Lloyd will count down the top-30 new rock songs of the week backstage with Matt Walst, vocalist and Barry Stock, guitarist. We will cover a lot of things including the challenges of recording their latest album Explosions while all members of the band were in separate locations due to COVID.
One of the best stories that Barry shares is the idea that led to the video for their number one song Lifetime. This video was shot in Mayfield, KY where a tragic tornado ripped through there devastating homes and businesses. As Barry explains, who now lives in Indiana, photos from people who lived there were blown many miles away and actually landed on his property. The band wanted to help the victims by donating money from their ticket sales .
Three Days Grace hit number one on the Rock 30 with their song So Called Life. As Matt Walst explains, the song’s chorus was written prior to the pandemic. However, the verses were written while everyone was in lockdown and completely changed the whole dynamic of the song.
