Finding What Happy Feels Like Again
Sometimes the right collaboration gives you more than a great song. It reminds you why you fell in love with making music in the first place. Ninth Key brings together Lø Spirit’s Josh Landry and Ekoh, two artists who had already built successful careers on their own before discovering a chemistry neither expected. What began as a few songs together became something they couldn’t stop chasing—and, as Josh tells LA Lloyd, arrived at a time when he was seriously questioning his own future in music.
Happy Feels Like
That freedom became the foundation of Ninth Key. No chasing trends. No trying to guess what radio or social media wanted. Just two friends asking, “What’s the coolest thing we could make right now?” The result includes “Happy Feels Like,” a song about getting beyond temporary highs and trying to rediscover the stability, gratitude and contentment that can become harder to recognize along the way.
Good Things
But the conversation goes well beyond the music. Josh opens up about the confidence Ekoh has helped him find, while Ekoh shares something he discovered about Josh that stopped the interview for a moment: watching his friend be a devoted father meant something deeply personal to a man who grew up without one. They also talk about making art instead of commerce, trusting their instincts, and the song that first convinced them this collaboration deserved something bigger—“Good Things.”
