Simple say it like “lilac.” Now that you’re in the loop, LA Lloyd is very happy to welcome Alyse Zavala and Oscar Romero to co-host the Rock 30. We will take you from the beginning of the band, formed in Raleigh, NC, to the present. They met through a mutual friend and decided to start a band with a male rapper and female singer dynamic. Alyse and Oscar emphasize the importance of exploring different genres and expressing unique perspectives through their music. You’ll learn about their approach to songwriting, focusing on the same emotion but from different perspectives, and how this dynamic relates to more people. Oscar adds that the dual vocalist style allows them to learn how to intertwine their stories together, often through conflict and strain.
LA Lloyd heard LYLVC’s song XXX just before Christmas and was immediately hooked. According to Alyse and Oscar, the strategy for this song is to make catchy and sexy music, encouraging crowds to sing along. After watching the video, it’s literally impossible to not do just that. Oscar shares that Alyse envisioned a strong, seductive female character, while he wrote from the perspective of someone enthralled by this “succubus.” The song explores the intense, sometimes frustrating, aspects of desire through its powerful lyrics and melody.
