LA Lloyd always enjoys introducing you to new, up-and-coming bands that he feels has the potential to have a big showing on the Rock 30 countdown. Icon For Hire is a band he immediately liked when he heard their new song called Ready For Combat.
As you can tell from watching the Ready For Combat video, Icon For Hire vocalist Ariel Bloomer is full of energy. She along with her guitarist Shawn Jump met in Illinois after Ariel’s family moved to the US from Sweden. That move is not something Ariel wanted but it turned into an amazing relationship when they started Icon For Hire. They were signed to a record deal in 2011 and after releasing two studio albums, they found out that formula was not working for them. So they reached out to the fans for help raising money to do their next album. This worked out to be a successful formula releasing four more albums including their new album The Reckoning.
It’s been a while since we have had a band play acoustically for you from the Rock 30 studios. Ariel and Shawn have agreed to perform their latest single Ready For Combat unplugged.
