Brother Cane January 3-4, 2026
Your eyes are not deceiving you. Yes, THAT Brother Cane has new music for 2026! After they disbanded in the late 90s, no one knew if the band would ever have a reunion and fans were left waiting and hoping. Damon Johnson, vocalist and guitarist had a great run touring with Alice Cooper and Thin Lizzy. When Gary Rossington from Lynyrd Skynyrd had heart surgery in 2021, Damon was brought in to be a temporary replacement. After Gary passed away in 2023, Damon was passed the torch to be a permanent member of Skynyrd. The band and family asked Damon to continue using Gary’s amps so the spirit of his tones would live on.
Magnolia Medicine
There will be a new album from Brother Cane called Magnolia Medicine that will be released April 17, 2026. According to Damon, “Magnolia Medicine came to him after he and his wife rehabilitated a Little Gem Magnolia tree that was dying in their backyard. After they almost lost hope that the tree would survive they began treating it with a special fertilizer and finally one beautiful single white blossom appeared at the top of the tree. A southern flower, a tree resurrected. So here is Brother Cane, a southern band, reborn.” The first single from the album is If This Means War.
