The theme of this week’s LA Lloyd Rock 30 is “Don’t Chase The Cool.” That’s a quote from Atreyu Vocalist Brandon Saller in regard to Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach. And Brandon is absolutely correct. Jacoby continues to move forward staying relevant by taking chances and discovering new sounds for his band as well as working with up and coming artists as he does currently on Atreyu’s new single Untouchable.
Atreyu released their album Baptize June 4, 2021. Brandon talks with LA Lloyd about the timing of the album release and if it was the best plan getting new music to their fans without being able to tour and support it. The album is comprised of great songs and collaborations including “Warrior” with Travis Barker of Blink-182 and of course Jacoby Shaddix on Untouchable.
“Song Is King” is a valuable lesson Atreyu learned from their producer John Feldman who worked with the band on Baptize. Brandon will take you through a typical day in the studio with John telling us how they were able to complete an entire song from beginning to end in one session.
